We are overwhelmingly excited for the opportunity to host our first ever Career Fair at Mid-Buchanan! On March 27th, we will be joined by a variety of organizations and employers from the Northwest MO area who will share with our 5h-12th grade students what it is that they do. For our older students, this is an opportunity to prepare for postsecondary education or to be recruited into the world of work. For our younger students, it's a chance to see and explore the cool things they could do right here at home. Your school is hard at work in preparation for this event! At home, please help us by talking to your students about what their interests are and how that might translate to work in the future. We can't wait to see our students at the Career Fair! PS: If you see any emergency vehicles at school on Wednesday, please don't worry! They'll be here to teach your students about careers in Law & Public Safety! Dive into the magic of learning with our fabulous first graders! They embarked on a sensory journey through phonics patterns with...shaving cream! Watching their little fingers trace out letters and phonics patterns in the fluffy foam was an absolute delight! Who knew handwriting practice could be this much fun?

Ms. Adams' and third grade students are utilizing Peter Liljedahl's Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics to explore elapsed time using a number line. For their second day of learning about this concept, students are prompted with an elapsed time word problem and then collaborate with their teams before working together to around the room to show their knowledge. Students then come together as a class to check their work. Way to enhance learning, 3rd grade!

🌟 Opal's Neighborhood STREAM Party Success! 🌟 What an incredible night of learning and fun at Opal's Neighborhood STREAM party! Students embarked on a cosmic journey, crafting their own constellations, explored Opal's Town with Sphero robots, cracked the codes in a thrilling escape room challenge, tested engineering skills by building bridges, and filled hearts with happiness or created ghost-repelling bottles.
