Fourth Grade student, Lyla Switlik, uses holiday gift tag project to bring cheer—and help—to classmates in need. Lyla participated in her first vendor fair to showcase her compassion for others by developing her own business venture, Feral Elves , to create and sell items to assist her fellow classmates. Lyla raised $160 to donate to outstanding lunch balances at our school. Thank you to Lyla for having a servant's heart. Dragon Nation is grateful for you.

We are thankful for our school family! 4th grade had their annual feast to celebrate their reading skills and their ability to follow directions. The smell of success swept through the halls, and visions of full plates and bellies demonstrated their mastery of skills today!
We love seeing all the gratitude these students have been showing!

Today, we proudly hosted our annual Veterans Day Assembly—one of the most meaningful traditions at Mid-Buchanan. Our elementary and secondary Student Council members worked hard to help prepare for the festivities, and OPAA! provided a wonderful buffet for our guests. We are also grateful for our custodial and maintenance teams, along with several students, who helped with setup.
One of the most special moments of the day was watching one of our paraprofessionals take their reenlistment oath during the assembly—an incredible honor to witness and a powerful reminder of the commitment our service members make.
Throughout the ceremony, our students paid tribute to Veterans through poem readings, a performance of “In Flanders Fields” by our junior high and high school choir, and a powerful rendition of the Veterans Day Salute and Taps by the band.
A special thank-you to H&H for donating the beautiful balloon backdrop that added an extra touch to today’s event.
We are thankful for the chance to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. Thank you, Veterans, for your courage, sacrifice, and commitment. Today and every day, we pay tribute to you. ❤️💙
