Today, we proudly hosted our annual Veterans Day Assembly—one of the most meaningful traditions at Mid-Buchanan. Our elementary and secondary Student Council members worked hard to help prepare for the festivities, and OPAA! provided a wonderful buffet for our guests. We are also grateful for our custodial and maintenance teams, along with several students, who helped with setup.
One of the most special moments of the day was watching one of our paraprofessionals take their reenlistment oath during the assembly—an incredible honor to witness and a powerful reminder of the commitment our service members make.
Throughout the ceremony, our students paid tribute to Veterans through poem readings, a performance of “In Flanders Fields” by our junior high and high school choir, and a powerful rendition of the Veterans Day Salute and Taps by the band.
A special thank-you to H&H for donating the beautiful balloon backdrop that added an extra touch to today’s event.
We are thankful for the chance to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. Thank you, Veterans, for your courage, sacrifice, and commitment. Today and every day, we pay tribute to you. ❤️💙

Join us in celebrating our amazing Miss Heather, our dedicated PAT educator, along with our parents, caregivers, and early childhood champions!
Parents as Teachers Day is, at its heart, a celebration of partnership. It reminds us of the shared vision to create a future where every family feels seen, supported, and empowered from the very beginning.
Today, we recognize and honor the incredible impact of our PAT program and the work Miss Heather does each day as an early childhood champion—walking alongside families through the important early years of their child’s life. It’s a day to celebrate all those who support families from pregnancy through early childhood, helping to ensure that every child gets the strongest possible start.

Did you know that every student with an IEP must have a Postsecondary Transition Plan? These plans are a vital part of preparing students for life after high school — whether that’s college, career training, employment, or independent living.
Join us for an informative Parent Night on Wednesday, October 29th at 6:00 PM in the High School Library. This event is open to all parents of students in grades 6–12 who receive special education services.
We’ll discuss:
✅ Why transition plans are important
✅ How they help guide your student’s future goals
✅ Resources and supports available to help your child succeed beyond high school
Come learn how we work together to build a meaningful future for every student!
