Dear Seniors and Parents,
Your senior year will be one filled with many important celebrations, some of which you will
want to share with friends and family, the most important of these is your graduation. We
spent part of the time in the Senior Class meeting designing a unique graduation
announcement especially for Mid Buchanan and the class of 2027. The 2027 Mid Buchanan
High School graduation announcement is truly a culmination of talent, commitment and
determination that represents our school, our graduation ceremony, and the entire senior
class.
In an effort to provide quality service to the senior class, and their families, during the meeting
on September 8th we will speak to the perspective graduates about the graduation experience on
that special day, how a cap and gown should fit and distribute order information.
Please take some time to ask your senior about the graduation meeting and start planning for
this spring. If you have any questions, please contact the Jostens team at 816-523-4900. Orders
will be turned in on Wednesday, September 16th before school.
Your faculty and staff at Mid Buchanan High School are incredibly proud of each of you and we
are excited to join in the numerous celebrations to come. Let’s make this a great senior year!

The start time of tonight's HS softball game at St. Pius X has been moved back to 5:30pm. It will now be varsity only due to the field not having lights.
The JV football game today vs. South Harrison is cancelled. Please spread the word!
Our science team worked up a lab to practice the lab safety students have been learning about this week. #BeADragon
Tomorrow, August 29th, we host the KCI Volleyball Tournament! We will be using both gyms with the first games starting at 8:00am. Pool play will be in the morning with bracket play beginning in the afternoon. All games in the HS gym will be livestreamed on the MB Dragon Pride YouTube.
The Lady Dragons will be the #1 seed for the tournament. Come support the Dragons!

Football's season opener is tonight at South Harrison! Kickoff is at 7:00pm. South Harrison will also be livestreaming the game on YouTube and Facebook for those that can't make it.

What an incredible first day of school!
From the second the doors opened, our buildings were filled with excitement, energy, collaboration, and plenty of Dragon pride! It was a great reminder that Mid-Buchanan is Built on Commitment—a commitment to our students, to one another, and to making this school year the very best it can be.
Our junior high and high school students kicked off the year with fun walk-up song introductions to their teachers. Our fifth graders spent time collaborating and discussing how they want their peers and teachers to treat one another, helping set the tone for a positive and respectful school year. Meanwhile, our newest Dragons in kindergarten received tours of the building as they began their exciting journey at Mid-Buchanan!
Across the district, students were reconnecting with friends, meeting new teachers, learning new routines, and beginning another year filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.
The first day was a Dragon success, and we can’t wait to see all the great things ahead!

Welcome to all Dragon Families! A few reminders about school times and Parent Pick Up and Drop Off!
School begins at 7:50. Doors open at 7:30 for the high school out front (Door 1) and out back for preschool through sixth grade (Door 14) from their car. Anyone utilizing ATHENA will use Door 2 (Elementary Main Doors) anytime between 6:30-7:30. Breakfast begins at 7:30 am. Anyone bringing a student AFTER 7:50 will need to sign their student in at their designated office and the student will receive a tardy slip.
Dismissal on August 24 is at 12:00 pm for all grades, preschool through twelfth grade, as well as any other half days on our calendar. On full school days, dismissal is 3:05 for grades kindergarten through twelve, and 2:30 for preschool.
As a reminder for returning families or information for new families, please see our Parent Pick Drop Off/Pick Up Line pictures in this post. Please remember to remain in your car in both the morning and afternoon, and staff will assist in getting students in and out of your vehicles, as needed. Please pull forward for any additional needs with your child, to help keep the line moving for all.

In partnership with the Mid-Buchanan Alumni Committee, our staff explored the people, traditions, stories, and milestones that helped shape the district we are proud to be part of today. ❤️💚
Understanding where we came from helps us appreciate where we are—and inspires us as we continue growing, learning, and cultivating success for the next generation of Dragons! 🐉🔥

Mid-Buchanan was proud to host a Para Bootcamp for 125 paraprofessionals representing 22 different schools across Northwest Missouri!
Throughout the day, participants gained practical strategies and resources through presentations focused on:

⭐ Sensory Supports
⭐ Speech
⭐ Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)
⭐ Communication
⭐ Knowing the Job & Understanding the Important Role of a Paraprofessional
Thank you to our presenters, organizers, and all 125 paras who joined us for a day dedicated to becoming even better at the important work they do for students.
