Every year we partner with the United Way to bring professionals to Mid-Buchanan to talk about their careers with our 8th graders. On Tuesday, we welcomed the following professionals who donated their time to our students: Adrea Sobetski (Lifeline Foods) Steven Sollars (Buchanan Co Sheriff) Guy Thevenot (Veritas Construction) Lauren Catron (United Way Marketing) #BeADragon

Our Dual Credit Biology students are at MWSU completing gel electrophoresis labs, discussing genetics with Drs. Elias and Meyers, and learning how to blood type. It’s a great day to be a Dragon! 🐉

Way to go, sixth grade! Students spent the week planning their narratives, and that preparation has them ready to start their rough drafts next week. Proof that planning before writing makes a difference!

Courtwarming Reminders: Games begin at 4:30pm tonight. Coronation is at halftime of the Varsity Boys game. Dances are Saturday: JH Dance - 5-7pm HS Dance - 8-10pm Cost: $4/person or $7/couple Drinks and snacks are provided at the dance.

Congratulations to our elementary robotics teams on a job well done today! Every team showed teamwork, perseverance, and strong problem solving skills. HS Wrestling competed at the KCI Conference Tournament last night. The boys finished in 3rd place and the girls are KCI Conference Champions for the third year in a row! Both teams had several All-Conference wrestlers:

Due to the weather Tiny Tot Prom is postponed. We will now have prom next Saturday, January, 31st @ 2pm @ Gower Christian Church. Stay inside this weekend, stay warm, and stay safe. Be ready to dance next weekend!!

WEEKEND ACTIVITIES UPDATE:

Girls varsity basketball will start at 5:00pm tonight, not 4:30.

Boys wrestling at Platte County will now be Friday only. There will be no wrestling on Saturday.

Girls wrestling at Council Grove on Saturday is cancelled.
