Friendly reminder the MSHSAA Dead Week started today and will end on July 7th. During this time all facilities are closed. All activities will resume on Monday, July 8th.

The Winter Guard Team was the June board spotlight.
We are thrilled to share the incredible achievements of our Winter Guard team! Last year, they began competing nationally and placed an impressive sixth. This year, they have continued to excel, competing in two national competitions and placing second in both!
The team consistently ranked in the top third out of 25-30 teams, ranging from small to large schools. Additionally, they placed second in the State this past year!
Congratulations to our talented Winter Guard team for their hard work and dedication. We are so proud of you!

For the first time ever, two of our talented students, Camy and Riley, were in Washington D.C. with their National History Day project! They presented their powerful documentary, "9/11: A Turning Point in Anti-Terrorism," to a panel of judges earlier this week, and unfortunately did not make it to the final round. However, Camy and Riley received Outstanding Missouri Project from 9 categories and 18 submissions!
Congratulations, Camy and Riley! You've made Dragon Nation so proud!

The St. Joe Bucks will play at Mid-Buchanan on Saturday, June 15th. Mid Buchanan students get in FREE! Come out and support the Bucks in the Midwest Regional Football League Championship game!

Fifth graders reviewed food chains and showed off their knowledge by playing the food chain game!

Mr. Vincent and his students are learning to cook this week. Yesterday, students made pancakes and today they made sweet potato fries. While most students tried the sweet potato fries, the consensus was they were not as good as fast food fries!

Kindergarten had an exciting day learning about the letter G. Students learned about the sound that /g/ makes and how to write it. First graders used their knowledge of letter sounds to build CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words from pictures.

The second week of summer school is underway with more exciting activities!
Second graders tackled the challenge of adding more than two numbers together and had a blast doing it!
Third graders got creative in the classroom and made delicious peaches and cream. The smiles on their faces say it all!
Finally, middle school students got creative with DIY kits donated by Home Depot. They crafted beautiful flower pots, bird feeders, and jewelry boxes. Huge thanks to Home Depot for their generous contribution!

Check out the hard work these students put in to complete some very nice final projects. #BeADragon

Our first-grade artists and engineers spent time constructing this afternoon. Students created mosaics with colorful chalk, crafted personalized drawings, and engineered incredible airplanes.

2024 Summer School is off to a great start!
Fifth and sixth-grade students completed math problems to learn about Mrs. Malita. Students worked on fractions and order of operations to discover facts about Mrs. Malita's family.
In Mrs. Woolery's reading class, students created a farm map from Charlotte's Web. This is a great visual for students to reference throughout their read-aloud!
